grenier
Dump the photos tonight — no sorting, no chat. grenier works the batch while you're gone and hands you one wake-up: what it's worth, the listings already written, and the honest list of what it couldn't call. It drafts. You publish.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/1789-tech/grenier/main/install.sh | sh
One command · open source (MIT) · draft-only — it never publishes anything without you
You don't get coached through your clutter — you hand it over. A batch of photos in the evening, and grenier runs every item through the same pipeline unattended: identify → decide → price → pick the channel → write the listing. It saves each decision as it goes, so a crash or a re-run picks up where it stopped.
“My cellar's a mess, stuff piled up for years, I don't know where to start. No time tonight — I'll dump the photos and you crack on.”
17 photos. No titles, no prices, no order.
You go to bed17 items processed. 11 listings written — title, price, description, category, channel.
Every one a draft. Nothing was posted to a marketplace, no buyer was messaged, nothing was decided for you.
You wake up · you review · you publish🌙 While you slept: 17 items processed, ~€230–310 recoverable, 11 listings ready to post, 4 to donate/recycle, 2 that need your eyes.
Kids' bike, Decathlon 20" — Leboncoin — €65 (55–75)
TITLE: Decathlon 20-inch kids' bike, good condition
Ready to ride, light scratches on the frame, tyres fine. Collection…
Lot of 30 paperbacks — Momox (buy-back) — ~€15–25 the lot
Low unit value → bundled, not 30 listings. That's the point.
+ 9 more drafts — each with title, price, description, category, channel.
Designer-looking bag, no proof of authenticity → model? receipt?
No designer price without proof — I did not list it as one.
Box of mixed electronics, photo too blurry → one sharp photo and I'll price it.
Cash recoverable: ~€230–310 (sell items only — summed, never invented)
Effort avoided: ~4–6 h of micro-listings refused (low value → bundles/donation)
Dated exits: 2 donation bags Saturday · 1 e-waste drop · 3 local listings
Deadlines: D+3 drop price 15% · D+7 donate if no serious buyer
First move now: post the bike at €65 — the draft is already written.
Everything is saved in grenier-inventory/. Say “reprends” tomorrow and it picks up from here.
The hook isn't a tidy house — it's the money already sitting in your cellar. grenier leads with the figure, then does the work you were never going to do.
Figures from one real 17-item cellar run (France). Your pile is your pile — the point is the shape of the result, not a promise of a number. grenier reports what it actually found: items done, items needing you, fields it had to guess.
For a single, fully-described item — yes, and we'll say so. Raw Claude prices a bike as well as we do. The gap isn't advice, it's the run: a cold, vague, 17-item pile handed over at midnight, worked unattended, saved to disk, and safe to leave alone. A chat window can't do that.
| Claude, on its own | grenier | |
|---|---|---|
| Advice on one described item | Strong | Strong — no real edge, and we won't pretend otherwise |
| Works the batch while you're gone | No — it only acts while you type | Yes — that's the wake-up |
| Remembers, resumes | No — next session you re-paste everything | Yes — inventory.jsonl, say “reprends” |
| Survives a long pile | No — hit the context limit, lose the early items | Yes — each item written to disk as it's decided |
| Leads with what it's worth | If you ask | Always — the € figure is the headline |
| Safe to leave alone | Undefined — nothing separates “drafted” from “done” | Draft-only — publishing is your call, always |
Short version: a chat gives good advice, live, once. grenier is a harness — it runs, it persists, and it stops at the line you'd want it to stop at.
The boundary is the product. An operator you can't trust unattended isn't an operator, so here's the line, in public, before you install it.
A €65 bike isn't a $65 bike. grenier loads a local recipe for your country, so the marketplaces, prices, donation and recycling routes actually apply.

Small, inspectable, idempotent — it's ~40 lines and does nothing surprising:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/1789-tech/grenier/main/install.sh | sh
No clone, no commands. Paste this into Claude Code and it fetches the Skill itself:
Install the grenier skill from https://github.com/1789-tech/grenier into ~/.claude/skills/, then take my pile: I'll drop the photos now.
grenier is early — if the wake-up missed something, a price felt wrong, or a step confused you, drop a line. It goes straight to the studio, not a support queue.
